Budget Friendly Holiday Meals from Sam’s Club | KitchenAid Stand Mixer {Giveaway- ENDED}

I hope you were surrounded by the ones you love most! Our holiday seemed to just go on and on and on, and I was sad to see it end, as out of town family loaded up their car and headed back to Kentucky yesterday.
It always seems like SO much prep, and then BAM! it’s all over way too fast!
Right before Christmas the good people at Sam’s Club challenged several bloggers to create a holiday meal with an assigned budget. My budget was $60, and I decided to use it for a pre New Years Eve dinner with just the four of us.
I had been cooking, and baking all week, so I decided to let Sam’s Club do the cooking for me! I wanted an easy, yet delicious meal we could all enjoy.
Sam’s Club made it simple. By shopping their Artisan Fresh section, I was able to put a great tasting meal on the table with little stress for me! – and we even have left overs!
Budget Friendly Holiday Meal
I couldn’t have come much closer to my budget! My total was $59.21.
Here’s what I picked up:

Chicken and Bacon Bruschetta ($9.98)
Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo ($10.88)
Spring Mix for salad ($4.47)
Herb & Garlic Focaccia ($2.78)
Artisan Fresh Cheesecake Sampler ($14.98)

$56.07 + $3.14 (tax) = $59.21
This was a nice treat and holiday meal that wouldn’t break your back or budget, leaving more time for family and guests! You could stretch your dollar even further if you wanted to cook your own meal. Sam’s Club has taken all the work out of that for you too, with their Simply Delicious Meals site, full of recipes, meal plans, wine pairing and even shopping lists!

Living with a man who loves to watch ballgames during the holidays, we always end up with alot of finger foods. It has actually become tradition. We all pick a few of our favs, whip them up, sack out on the couch and watch some football!

We usually change things every year on New Years. But, the kids always request little smokies wrapped in crescent rolls as an appetizer 🙂
For New Years I will me making my family’s fav desert….Caramel apple cheesecake….easy peasy :o)

Traditionally I bake a ham with various sides. But the last couple of years we do an assortment of appetizers, lots of variety.
My favorite dish for the New year is gumbo. This year we are fixing gumbo and our friends are making ribs. I think that totally blows any resolutions about diets. lol

Favorite New Years dish… well we have a tradition of making many types of appetizers, wings, egg rolls, deviled eggs, kibe, a brazilian food called “Coxinha”, chips and homemade dips, and Chex partymix. 🙂 No fancy dinner just snacking on appetizers through the night.

We always do appetizer// finger foods. Our new favorite is Fillo Shells filled with a cube of Brie, brown sugar, candied nuts and dried cranberries. Melt in the oven until the fillo is bubbly. Serve with apple slices. Greatness!
