Wow, another holiday season is over. But, I have one more holiday gift to giveaway! See how you can enter to win a KitchenAid Pro HD 5 qt Stand Mixer at the end of this post! EDITED: GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED
I hope you were surrounded by the ones you love most! Our holiday seemed to just go on and on and on, and I was sad to see it end, as out of town family loaded up their car and headed back to Kentucky yesterday.
It always seems like SO much prep, and then BAM! it’s all over way too fast!
Right before Christmas the good people at Sam’s Club challenged several bloggers to create a holiday meal with an assigned budget. My budget was $60, and I decided to use it for a pre New Years Eve dinner with just the four of us.
I had been cooking, and baking all week, so I decided to let Sam’s Club do the cooking for me! I wanted an easy, yet delicious meal we could all enjoy.
Sam’s Club made it simple. By shopping their Artisan Fresh section, I was able to put a great tasting meal on the table with little stress for me! – and we even have left overs!
Budget Friendly Holiday Meal
I couldn’t have come much closer to my budget! My total was $59.21.
Here’s what I picked up:

Chicken and Bacon Bruschetta ($9.98)
Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo ($10.88)
Spring Mix for salad ($4.47)
Herb & Garlic Focaccia ($2.78)
Artisan Fresh Cheesecake Sampler ($14.98)
Wine ($12.98)
$56.07 + $3.14 (tax) = $59.21
This was a nice treat and holiday meal that wouldn’t break your back or budget, leaving more time for family and guests! You could stretch your dollar even further if you wanted to cook your own meal. Sam’s Club has taken all the work out of that for you too, with their Simply Delicious Meals site, full of recipes, meal plans, wine pairing and even shopping lists!

I do not have a favorite but I’ve recently heard that black eyed peas bring good luck for the New Year. This year I’ve decided to give them a try.
Snack-y type foods for us–and of course Champagne!!
I like steak at our favorite restaurant but if we stay home I enjoy a variety of appetizers that you can make a meal out of.

My husband cooks a fabulous brisket that he smokes for hours! We usually have friends over and everyone brings something! IF there is anything left the next day I love making a sandwich with the brisket!
Our favorite dish for NYE is cake or cupcakes, because the 31st is my husband’s birthday.

I don’t have any traditional New Year’s eve dishes. This year I’ll be making ginger scones.
I don’t know if it is necessarily a dish that I love, but more of the dip selections. I LOVE clam dip, and appetizers!!
Our favorite new years eve dinner is lobster and steak. Love us a little surf and turf.
On New Year’s Eve, our family of four is usually at home. We usually let the kids pick out favorite treats/appetizers to purchase/make. That said, our menu changes from year to year. A constant favorite, though, is homemade nachos. In the last few years, we have also started the tradition of having a bottle of non-alcoholic grape juice for everyone to enjoy at midnight. This is a little something that makes an evening at home with the family seem extra special!
I like both you and Sam’s Club on Facebook!
I love raclette for New Years! 🙂
Thanks for the chance to win!

Our new years are always quiet affairs, but a relaxing evening with some friends and some home made pretzels make every new year start out right!
My favorite the last few years has been bruschetta! That and a bottle of champagne are the perfect way to ring in the new year!

My favorite New Years meal? Filet Mignon. MMMM.
I shared your contest link on my FB page.
Nothing wrong with homemade chili and cornbread with hot pepper jelly!
I make my homemade salsa and everyone loves it!
We always do a big roast dinner on New Years eve and celebrate our English traditions by having a dark haired person come through the front door carrying salt, coal and bread. Providing that the following year everyone in the house will have enough to eat (bread), enough money (salt) and always be warm (coal).
I tweeted the giveaway!
Goat cheese and fig jelly is a great appy for a ny eve party! love it.
Black eyed peas of course! I also fix turnip greens, ham and cornbread. This is suppose to bring good luck in the new year.
I like to have mostly dessert/snack type foods for new years…my favorite would be cake balls!!!
We have a candy game night each ny’s eve with some other munchies.
One thing we love is those cream cheese and ham crescent wraps.
Would love this mixer! I love to serve a ham/cream cheese mixture on French Baguettes for New Year’s Eve! Of course hot chocolate makes the night complete!
