I think almost all of us know the little orange box. But did you know that for more than 160 years, people have chosen pure, versatile, effective, safe, and affordable ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda for baking, household, and personal care uses.
I was thrilled when I opened my Switch & Save Challenge box this month to find two boxes of ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda. Remember when I raved about how much I like vinegar? Well, baking soda is another one of my favorite house hold products!! I mean how can you NOT love it? It’s one of the most versatile, hardworking and economical products you can use in your home!
After all, how many products can help you bake the best banana bread, clean nasty odors out of clothes AND exfoliate your face?! I mean seriously…….it does all of that and SO much more!
Best of all, ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda is natural. So it’s no surprise that ARM & HAMMER® has a long history of environmental awareness. They started using recycled paperboard in 1907, and were the sole corporate sponsor of the first Earth Day in 1970. How cool is that! They were committed to saving our planet even before it was “cool”.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some fabulous uses for this rockin’ product all around your home. I’ll share how you can save by using ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda and I will even have a few more of those $25 Visa Gift Cards to giveaway!
Be sure to pick up a box and discover the “countless uses for under $1” in your own home and print out the handy solutions guide.
Do you use baking soda for more than just baking? I will share some of your ideas in the next few weeks!

I love baking soda, too! I love to use it to scrub my stainless steel pans, to wash fruit and veggies and to clean my sink. But you know my favorite use? Washing my hair with it when it’s all bogged down with styling products! Better than any clarifying shampoo you can buy!
We love Arm & Hammer products! Such a great natural cleaning tool 🙂
I don’t have a dishwasher so when I need to disenfect kitchen sponges I add baking soda to some water and boil the sponges.
Toothpaste! Just dip your wet brush in a spoonful and you have an inexpensive, environment safe way to make your teeth sparkle!
I always have an open box in my refrigerator for keeping down stinky odors.
I’m with Amanda- always in our fridge to keep the smell fresh. And my Mom taught me to use it for hard to wash pots and pans. Can’t wait to hear more Cheryl!
Like bridget {bake at 350} I use it to clean buildup from my hair (a vinegar rinse is also great for this!). I also use it to unclog drains (with three cats who drink out of the tub, this is a huge money saver!). You can also make a ‘comet’ like cleaner using dawn dishwashing soap and baking soda. Works really well.
I love baking soda for its many uses. I have used it for our hair as well. It really strips the buildup of products out. I put a few tablespoons in a cup of water and microwave for a few minutes to help loosen the stuck on food. It really wipes right off afterwards. (Wait until it cools before removing from microwave and wiping down.) I also sprinkle some in bathwater when my children are starting to get a UTI. Many times it helps with the irritation and that is all it takes.
I LOVE Baking Soda!! We buy the huge bag of Arm and Hammer from Costco and keep it in our food storage as well. We use it to wash our clothes, it really helps remove the stink from arm pit stains in shirts.
Every time we have a potty stain on the floor or a bed we clean it first with a vinegar solution and then let the baking soda sit to soak up the moisture and deodorize/sanitize.
I make a solution with baking soda to scrub my sinks and shower/tubs too!
Arm & Hammer baking soda is the best Cheryl…it’s a great product to see featured here on Tidymom!
I love baking soda for so many things. I wrote a whole post about some of my favorite uses: Kitchen Tip: The Many Uses for Baking Soda. Lots of great ideas in the comments too. I always buy a big bag at Costco and really like adding it to my laundry.
We use baking soda for everything around our house too. It gets out really tough stains in my pans and sinks. It deodorizes our fridge and garbage can. It calms a sour stomach and makes a great treatment for bee stings. It can also be used to entertain bored children — they think “volcanoes” made with baking soda and vinegar are amazing. I can’t wait to get even more ideas from your upcoming posts. =)
We always use it to eliminate food odors. Of course, I used to have “oil” fires in my kitchen just about everyday when I was a teenager. My mom always kept boxes of Arm & Hammer baking soda handy so I could put out my fires easily!
I’ve been using Arm & Hammer for the past year as my shampoo. I’ve gone “No Poo,” meaning I don’t use commercial shampoo and conditioner. I mix one tablespoon Arm & Hammer in one cup of water. I use a quarter of that solution on my hair every other day. I will never go back to regular shampoo 🙂
YES! I LOVE Baking Soda! I use it for cleaning and save tons of money by doing so. Mixing a bit of dish soap, baking soda and vinegar with water you can clean almost anything and it removes hard to clean stuff SO easily. LOVE IT! In fact, just last month I scrubbed my entire hallway with that mixture; floor to ceiling, every wall the entire length of my hallway.
And it’s magical in keeping your pipes in your kitchen sink clear – baking soda followed by vinegar. Awesome stuff.
Oh my goodness, we LOVE Arm & Hammer Baking Soda! It’s absolutely essential in my kitchen and around the house.
I buy a huge bag at Costco and use it for everything: cleaning, laundry, dishes, you name it! I love that I am using an environmentally sound and non-toxic product.
I ran across this post on http://www.simplemom.net ~ she describes how she uses baking soda as a shampoo !

I have recently switched to using baking soda to clean many things in our home. One day after watching a news report on a women who cleaned her house with lemon juice and baking soda, I figured I’d give it a whirl…. I now SWEAR by Arm & Hammer for almost all my cleaning needs!
I love baking soda, especially for slow drains. Sprinkle in, then pour in some vinegar and let foam. Then rinse with hot water and voila!
I love Arm and Hammer Baking Soda. I use it for so many things! I love that it’s a clean and environmentally friendly product.

I love Arm and Hammer Baking Soda – It’s great as a mild facial scrub, carpet stain absorber and of course we always have one in the fridge to help eliminate odors!
We’ve used it for toothpaste, to sprinkle into the bottom of the garbage can, to sprinkle onto the carpets to freshen them, for a safe abrasive cleaner, and I’ve even put open boxes in the closets to absorb odors. I figure if it works for the fridge, it’ll work for the closets!
I buy Arm & Hammer Baking Soda in bulk at Costco. It’s the cheapest but most versatile item in my cart!
Arm and Hammer Baking Soda AND Vinegar have long been two of my favourite household cleaning products. From teeth (baking soda) to tile and hardwood floors (vinegar) these two products can do it all. Looking forward to your future posts on uses for Arm and Hammer.
