I’m all about simple when it comes to the holidays and decorating for Christmas.  When I shared my Christmas Home Tour last week, several people asked about the Easy Cranberry Centerpiece I had on our kitchen table, so I thought I’d do a post about it!

I love to jazz up the table for the holidays. Nothing super elaborate or extravagant , because that’s just too fussy and fancy for me and if we’re being honest those types of centerpieces are usually pretty expensive. I would rather spend my money on what I’m going to serve at the table…….. or on a new purse or pair of boots that I have on my wish list. 😉

I had everything I needed to put this cranberry centerpiece together.

  • Mason jars make the perfect vessel
  • fresh cranberries
  • fresh holly from our yard
  • fresh cedar (I picked up a 20′ garland from a tree lot to use around the house)
  • artificial snow
  • battery operated tea lights
  • red tray
  • pinecones

I simply filled a few mason jars (use various sizes) 1/3 of the way with artificial snow, filled cranberries almost to the top, then simply stuffed the top with pieces of the cedar garland and holly.

I placed the jars and tea lights and on a red tray, scattered a little snow and cranberries and cedar around the jars and added a few pinecones…….that’s it!

Tip:  Use various sizes of jars together to make a beautiful centerpiece or several of the same size jars down and run them down the center of the table with the lights in each jar or in between each jar

Since most of the items are fresh, this cranberry centerpiece will only look fresh for about a week.  I’ve actually had mine out for a few weeks, and some of the greens, specifically the holly are looking pretty dried up, but I can easily run out in the yard and cut some fresh to replace it.

I’m still hoping to share a simple wreath I made, early next week.

I’d love to hear how you decorate simply.
