Samsung NX300 Camera | Visiting San Diego

Remember how I told you we would wrap up the Spark Your Summer with a few fun giveaways?  Well, today’s the day and I think you are going to LOVE what I have to share! Taking pictures has always been something I’ve enjoyed!  Even way before blogging, I was always the one with the camera taking all the pictures.  I love that blogging has allowed me the opportunity to grow that passion, and learn more about photography……all at the same time that iphoneography has taken the world by storm.  There’s a rare moment that we don’t have our phones on us to capture memories and moments.  As cool and handy as my iphone is, it can’t do what my big girl camera can do (think zoom lenses especially).

There are times I will carry both my big dslr with my 28-75mm lens around and still take pictures with my iphone…..you know, because I can’t miss an opportunity to Instagram what I’m doing in the moment 😉  But most of the time, I leave my big girl camera at home, hoping to get “good enough” shots with my iphone. Several weeks ago, my friends at Staples offered to send me a camera that is a game changer!! The Samsung NX300 20.3 MP SMART Microless Camera With 20-50 mm Lens – what makes this little gem so special? 

This camera has WiFi capability!  You can upload pictures from the camera to your phone or even straight to Facebook and videos right to YouTube. No more juggling 2 cameras! ….tell me I’m not the only one who takes a picture with their big camera, then whips out their iphone so they can share a picture on Facebook or Instagram.  And lets take it a step further…….. The Samsung NX300  comes with a 20-50 mm retractable zoom lens in the box, but there are many other lenses that you can get for this camera (I want to get the 18-200mm) , great for those of us who don’t want the bulk of a DSLR camera.  What really makes the NX300 stand out is it’s size….. just 12 ounces, which makes it easy to just toss in my purse.  Now I don’t have to choose between using my phone or the DSLR! My daughters and I went to San Diego and stayed on Coronado Island at Hotel Del a few weeks ago. I took my dslr, my iphone and the NX300 with me, guess which one I used the most?! Below are just a few of the photos we took on our trip with the Samsung NX300

The girls were SO excited to be in Southern California for the first time!……and their first time seeing the Pacific Ocean.

Hotel Del Coronado was even more beautiful in person! we can’t wait to go back!

The weather was just as gorgeous as all the animals.

All of the Koalas were napping.  so cute!

We took a walk on Coronado Island one evening where you could see the San Diego skyline…….the Samsung NX300 did fabulous in the dark – this was shot with out a tripod.  I’ll be honest, I’m in love with the gorgeous white leather, but it does come in black and brown as well I’ll be sharing a little more about our trip soon……but I couldn’t wait to share these photos with you AND give away a camera!!  That’s right!  This beautiful camera ($750) could be yours!  How’s that for Spark Your Summer?!
