My husband gets dirty. I mean really sweaty dirty.
Get your mind out of the gutter…….he’s a bug man! He owns his own pest control business AND in his free time he plays with kitties……..
Really BIG kitties.
so you can imagine my laundry issues right? I mean, my man has TIGER size stains! lol
With spraying pesticides, squeezing thru crawl spaces, climbing in attics, greasy commercial kitchens and big wet tiger paws….he brings home a whole new kind of STINKY!
Laundry Tips
My usual laundry regimen is to throw in about half a cup of baking soda with the wash cycle of my top loader, then if I can remember, I’ll toss in about 1/2-1 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. If I really have the time, nothing beats hanging them outside to dry. Sunlight is a natural sanitizing and bleaching agent.
I was really excited when I received a bottle of Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean Power Gel Laundry Detergent as my Switch & Save Challenge product for this month! I couldn’t wait to put it to the test.
I have to be honest…….I was really expecting a lot out of a product with the Arm & Hammer name. And, much to our olfactory satisfaction not only did his shirts look clean…….but they smelled clean and STAYED smelling clean! That received VERY high marks, not to mention the number it did on the stains. Most of the time clothes get tossed into the laundry basket with out being pre-treated……so the stain fighting peace of mind was another big plus!
ARM & HAMMER has always been a brand name synonymous with reliability and value in my book, and their baking soda has been a staple I grew up using in the kitchen. I’m excited to have a new favorite Arm & Hammer product for my laundry room! A product that does what it promises to do…..clean clothes.
Giveaway has ended. Congrats to #60 Amy
“My son get his nose bleeds easily, especially in CA’s dry weather. I always wake up to blood stains in the morning on his pillow case and sheets. I tried to wash the stains right the way with cold water if I don’t have time to laundry just yet. And the new Tide stain remove product really help.“ ~Amy

My dh works at a power plant where there is tons of coal dust and fly ash. I love love love oxi clean!
My husband and I have 10 year old triplet girls. We have stains ranging from grass, good ole Kentucky red clay, and assorted others. When I run into a particular stain, I treat it with a shot of dish detergent and a tooth brush. Then launder as usual. This also works on grease and oils from my husband working on motors.
As a mother to 9 going on 10 children. I find stains quite a bit that I have no idea where they came from. Another is I get baby clothes either real cheap or given to me with formula stains or stains that reappeared after storage. The best stain treatment is a five gallon bucket 1/2 Cup of clorox 2 powder, 1/2 cup of liquid dish detergent , & 1/4 cup of borax. Add hot, hot water, stir & add clothes that need treated. I usually dip them, then rub a little where stain is and then soak over night. Wash in washer next morning. I keep solution I’m bucket for a few days in case I have more stains. I just add Hot water to fill up bucket after I have clothes in it. Enjoy. We love it! Works better than a store made treatment.
best thing for grease stains (even set in ) is ZOUT spray (not the foam). awesome stuff. our toughest stains are ground in dirt/sweat/manure in our jeans from working with the cows/horses. also grease stains and neckline stains.
I’m a freak when it comes to getting stains out of clothing. I even take my friends laundry from them before they end up screwing something up 🙂 I have been known to boil water, oxy clean and whatever clothing item has a stain to try to get it out. One of my favorite tricks is to use Dawn soap. It’s the best on getting out grease and stains. I love to throw clothing outside to sit in the sun and let it do its bleaching job. But the number one thing is to never put it in the dryer if it has a stain. I’m always telling my friends to check the clothes first.
My biggest laundry issue is the occasional stain. I’ve found that putting dish soap directly on the stain & then washing it usually works wonders!

My biggest laundry issue is……what else????? My husband! His hobby is cars. So, on the weekends, he is head to toe grease. His day time gig is selling coolant to machine shops, which sometimes includes climbing into this giant machines to clean them out. The smell of old, slimy, fungus-y coolant is not pleasant. There is nothing that takes that funk out of clothes (trust me, I’ve tried everything I can think of)!

I have the occasional red wine stain and as odd as it sounds, white wine removes it!
My biggest laundry issue?… The sheer magnitude of the job… Constant (seriously, never-ending) piles and piles of laundry!… How do I handle it?… Poorly, I’m afraid… I just *keep swimming* and washing/drying/putting away… and eventually they will all grow up and take their laundry with them and I will be sad…

My biggest laundry issue is tomato based stains. If it’s sunny outside I put the article of clothing outside for the sun to bleach it, then I wash it.

My biggest laundry issue is from my kids clothes. They play hard which means lots of dirt and grass stains. I usually use a laundry pre treatment spray and then start scrubbing. Thinking I may try the laundry tip that you have posted here. Thanks!

My biggest laundry issue is cleaning my sons shirts. He’s 3 and he is so messy. I use oxy clean and it gets most of it out.
I have a 4 month old and i feel like I do a load of laundry a day! My biggest issue is getting those yucky stains out of colors, yuck.
My biggest laundry challenges are juice stains, jelly stains and grease stains. I use Arm & Hammer powder detergent and also use A&H baking soda to supplement when needed.
I think sweat stains are the biggest issue. I combat them by pretreating with a stain buster right after clothing has been worn, and also add baking soda to the wash! Thanks for the chance to win!

Wow!!! I know that your giveaway is over but I just had to comment. I can’t even imagine the stains and issues that you have to tackle. My friend and I started a laundry service from our homes and I thought we’d seen about everything but NEVER have I encountered ANYTHING that you have battled. Kudos to you and I must say that we swear by Arm & Hammer and it always does the job for us.
