My husband gets dirty. I mean really sweaty dirty.
Get your mind out of the gutter…….he’s a bug man! He owns his own pest control business AND in his free time he plays with kitties……..
Really BIG kitties.
so you can imagine my laundry issues right? I mean, my man has TIGER size stains! lol
With spraying pesticides, squeezing thru crawl spaces, climbing in attics, greasy commercial kitchens and big wet tiger paws….he brings home a whole new kind of STINKY!
Laundry Tips
My usual laundry regimen is to throw in about half a cup of baking soda with the wash cycle of my top loader, then if I can remember, I’ll toss in about 1/2-1 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. If I really have the time, nothing beats hanging them outside to dry. Sunlight is a natural sanitizing and bleaching agent.
I was really excited when I received a bottle of Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean Power Gel Laundry Detergent as my Switch & Save Challenge product for this month! I couldn’t wait to put it to the test.
I have to be honest…….I was really expecting a lot out of a product with the Arm & Hammer name. And, much to our olfactory satisfaction not only did his shirts look clean…….but they smelled clean and STAYED smelling clean! That received VERY high marks, not to mention the number it did on the stains. Most of the time clothes get tossed into the laundry basket with out being pre-treated……so the stain fighting peace of mind was another big plus!
ARM & HAMMER has always been a brand name synonymous with reliability and value in my book, and their baking soda has been a staple I grew up using in the kitchen. I’m excited to have a new favorite Arm & Hammer product for my laundry room! A product that does what it promises to do…..clean clothes.
Giveaway has ended. Congrats to #60 Amy
“My son get his nose bleeds easily, especially in CA’s dry weather. I always wake up to blood stains in the morning on his pillow case and sheets. I tried to wash the stains right the way with cold water if I don’t have time to laundry just yet. And the new Tide stain remove product really help.“ ~Amy

My biggest laundry issue is that I have to go to the landromat! I try to stay stocked up on basic wardrobe items so that I can get away with going only once every two weeks.
I subscribe to the e-mail.
I like your facebook page.
My biggest problem with laundry, is how I just happen to be wearing white shirts, when I decide to accidentally spill something. It’s always a white shirt. They don’t like me very much.
My hubby is always getting grease stains on the front of his shirts. Those stains are always hard to get out.

I subscribe to you via e-mail and like you on FB. Our issues are sweat stains, my hubby sweats ALOT…even with deodorant and antipersperant:):) Crossing my fingers:):) XO, Pinky
My biggest problem is when my daughter goes away on the weekend and then comes home with major stains on her clothes that haven’t been pretreated. My big fix is to spray it (to death) with stain remover and let it sit overnight. I spray it again before putting it into the laundry and then cross my fingers. I too am a big believer in hanging clothes out on the line. There is just something about the smell…

We lived and worked for 2 years on a chicken farm with 125,000 chickens at a time. It seriously could be featured on dirty jobs when it was time to power wash the feed pans. Dirty, stinky, yucky.
My son has been working on a sod installation crew this summer, and lifting the rolls of sod leaves streaks of mud all down the front of his T-shirts. So hard to get out!
I already subscribe, of course!
I like you on facebook, too!
My biggest laundry challenge is yellowed collars on white shirts and underarm stains.

I have trouble with grease spots on dark clothes that I don’t know are there until the clothes have been dried and then . . . too late.
I’d say my biggest laundry issue is remove the stains!!

Grease spots are where my trouble lies. I use Shout it Out, Oxyclean and even rub in some detergent and still don’t always get the spots out.
My biggest laudry problem would be the million different stains that my 2 year old gets all over everything and how I always forget about the stains until it has been through the laundry once.
My laundry challenge would be grass stains ground in on my son’s Little League off white uniform. I pre-treat and scrub with an old toothbrush but I am going to try the Arm & Hammer with Oxy. It would be great to have a little more oomph-power to clean up better.

My husband is a Firefighter and the City pays for his uniform dry cleaning but they don’t pay to clean his work t-shirt and fire retardant socks. Sometimes the smell is un-be-lie-va-ble! I have a front load washer so if I want to soak his clothes I do it in our bathtub! On his off days he helps his a friend with his residential concrete business. He comes home with head to toe dust/concrete dried up. I’ve spent many a day picking dried up concrete off of shorts because he wore the wrong ones.

Recently had to get silly putty out of my daughter’s shirt, poured on a lot of alcohol, gently scrapped with a butter knife and then Resolve for clothes to get the stain out. Worked great. And for my personal clothes grease splatters from cooking (I guess I think my cute apron was made to hang on the fridge, I NEVER wear it) I usually rub on a little dish detergent to cut the grease and then launder as usual. Works pretty well.
Is ‘like’ on facebook the same as joining on FB? I liked it but wanted to make sure i did it right.
Mud is tough to get out.

My biggest laundry challenge is a very active 10 year old boy!! Enough said 🙂 Grass stains, dirt, mud, sap, sunscreen, bug spray…you name it, it has been on his clothes. My grandma ALWAYS used OxiClean and baking soda when doing her laundry…and it has always worked wonders. I’ll definitely be trying this out!
I have a 2 yr old who loves to get ahold of her older sisters markers! Enough said!!

My biggest laundry issue is sock stains on my preschoolers socks. I really don’t understand how their socks get so dirty and stained consiering they are wearing shoes all day! Grrrr.
I subscribe to your blog through RSS. Thanks for the chance! (BTW, I envy your husband! I’d love to snuggle a tiger!!!!)

I have 3 daughters ages 6,4, and 21 months. They are a MESS–literally. I’d say my biggest laundry with them besides food stains is dirt and side walk chalk! If there’s a dirt pile, they’ll find it! They love side walk chalk, but it can sometimes RUIN clothes!!
FIRST OFF, I LOVE YOUR POSTS. I LOVE GETTING ON FACEBOOK TO SEE WHAT YOU HAVE POSTED RECENTLY!
SECOND…MY LAUNDRY ISSUES…
MY HUSBAND IS A LINEMAN FOR A POWER COMPANY, WHICH MEANS HE CLIMBS TO THE TOP OF POLES IN 90-100 DEGREE WEATHER WITH RUBBER GLOVES, RUBBER SLEEVES, LONG SLEEVE, THICK FR SHIRTS AND BOOTS… HE SWEATS AND SWEATS ALOT, OUTSIDE OF SWEATING, HE WORKS AROUND LOTS OF GREASES AND WORKS WITH UNDERGROUND POWER LINES. THAT INCLUDES LOTS AND LOTS OF MUD, YUCK!
ON TOP OF MY HUSBAND’S “TIGER SIZED STAINS”, I HAVE TWO BOYS AGES 6 AND 7. I DAILY DEAL WITH GRASS STAINS, MUD, CHICKEN MESS, MARKER, ETC. AND, I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO LOVES MARKERS, FOOD, FINGER NAIL POLISH AND LIPSTICK… *I KNOW, IT’S A JEALOUS LIFE* 🙂
THE ABSOLUTE BEST STAIN REMOVER I HAVE FOUND HAS BEEN **FELS-NAPTHA** IT IS A BAR SOAP, FOUND EITHER IN LAUNDRY GOODS OR BODY SOAPS. IT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND IT WORKS WONDERS ON STAINS. I MAKE MY OWN LAUNDRY SOAP AND USE THIS IN IT AS WELL. I JUST KEEP A BAR ON MY WASHER. WORKS WONDERS! I SCRUB THE STAIN WITH THE BAR, THEN THROW IT IN THE WASH!
my biggest challenge is getting it all done
for my three little girls they all wear the same socks all white
after they are done they put them all into a mesh bag. I wash that bag and dry it with socks in it. no more sorting… except the sunday school socks.
