My husband gets dirty. I mean really sweaty dirty.
Get your mind out of the gutter…….he’s a bug man! He owns his own pest control business AND in his free time he plays with kitties……..
Really BIG kitties.
so you can imagine my laundry issues right? I mean, my man has TIGER size stains! lol
With spraying pesticides, squeezing thru crawl spaces, climbing in attics, greasy commercial kitchens and big wet tiger paws….he brings home a whole new kind of STINKY!
Laundry Tips
My usual laundry regimen is to throw in about half a cup of baking soda with the wash cycle of my top loader, then if I can remember, I’ll toss in about 1/2-1 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. If I really have the time, nothing beats hanging them outside to dry. Sunlight is a natural sanitizing and bleaching agent.
I was really excited when I received a bottle of Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean Power Gel Laundry Detergent as my Switch & Save Challenge product for this month! I couldn’t wait to put it to the test.
I have to be honest…….I was really expecting a lot out of a product with the Arm & Hammer name. And, much to our olfactory satisfaction not only did his shirts look clean…….but they smelled clean and STAYED smelling clean! That received VERY high marks, not to mention the number it did on the stains. Most of the time clothes get tossed into the laundry basket with out being pre-treated……so the stain fighting peace of mind was another big plus!
ARM & HAMMER has always been a brand name synonymous with reliability and value in my book, and their baking soda has been a staple I grew up using in the kitchen. I’m excited to have a new favorite Arm & Hammer product for my laundry room! A product that does what it promises to do…..clean clothes.
Giveaway has ended. Congrats to #60 Amy

I tried to wash the stains right the way with cold water if I don’t have time to laundry just yet. And the new Tide stain remove product really help.“ ~Amy

That is really cool! Where does he get to interact with Tigers so closely? The only Tiger sanctuary that I know of here just moved out to Branson. I know the post is about laundry but I cant get my mind off those amazing cats! I need to know more lol!
My biggest laundry problem is my son’s gym clothes. :o( My favorite product is Simple Green. You buy it in the automotive section.
My biggest laundry issue is red wine stains which normally happens when I’m out and about, so I basically would have to rush to the restroom and quickly rinse it out as much as I can.

My biggest laundry issue is grease stains.
My biggest challenge is that we live in Eastern Europe (we’re U.S. military) and the washer and dryer we’ve been provided are small….as in I can fit no more than 3 beach towels in the tub. Additionally, the shortest washing cycle is 1 hour. The dryer does not work by forced air, so everything still feels a bit damp when it comes out…as well as being wrinkled and needing ironing. What has helped to keep the laundry from piling up is to have everyone- from my 3 year old to my husband- separate their clothing when they take it off so I can walk by and grab a basket when I see it’s full. And fortunately, I have a wonderful housekeeper who does a great job ironing! 🙂
I use one of the following or a mixture thereof depending on the crazy factor of the stain: distilled white vinegar (I swear this gets anything out of anything), baking soda (similar effects in OXYClean), and/or Shout.
The white vinegar, though, that’s my go-to. It’s a miracle worker.
Hi Cheryl, I have 3 kids and a husband and we live on a cattle ranch. We have dirt! I use pretreater and good ol fashion scrubbing by hand on the tough stains and finish off with a soak.
mud. soccer field mud. little boy having a great time mud.
sometimes pretreating it doesn’t do the job ;(
Grass stains!

Since moving from SC to Co, our clothing still had musty smell and we have tried everything. Will have to give Arm and Hammer a try. With your kudos I have hope that this will be a keeper. Thanks for trying it out for us. Wow, now you do have a laundry challenge for sure.
When switching to underwear while potty training and getting out the potty stains from popping is a challenge and ketchup or spaghetti stains from white shirts from my daughter’s school uniform from lunch

My husband also does a really dirty job. When I got a new washer I was determined not to put that dirt into my brand new machine. So I did a little research and now I am hand washing his clothes
It is really fast. His clothes are really clean and I can’t believe I am now an advocate for hand washing. But I am.
My biggest laundry issue is grease stains. Even when I pretreat they don’t always come out the first time. I’ve set a few stains because I forgot to check to see if the stain came out before tossing it in the dryer.
Grass stains are my biggest laundry issue! I pre-treat with rubbing alcohol before washing.

My biggest laundry issue is that I’m a great cook, but MESSY! I always forget to put on an apron or smock and everything not only goes into the dish but gets on me! Blackberries and blueberries are a nightmare! I usually have to soak in OxiClean and detergent for a day to get them out.
