My husband gets dirty. I mean really sweaty dirty.
Get your mind out of the gutter…….he’s a bug man! He owns his own pest control business AND in his free time he plays with kitties……..
Really BIG kitties.
so you can imagine my laundry issues right? I mean, my man has TIGER size stains! lol
With spraying pesticides, squeezing thru crawl spaces, climbing in attics, greasy commercial kitchens and big wet tiger paws….he brings home a whole new kind of STINKY!
Laundry Tips
My usual laundry regimen is to throw in about half a cup of baking soda with the wash cycle of my top loader, then if I can remember, I’ll toss in about 1/2-1 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. If I really have the time, nothing beats hanging them outside to dry. Sunlight is a natural sanitizing and bleaching agent.
I was really excited when I received a bottle of Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean Power Gel Laundry Detergent as my Switch & Save Challenge product for this month! I couldn’t wait to put it to the test.
I have to be honest…….I was really expecting a lot out of a product with the Arm & Hammer name. And, much to our olfactory satisfaction not only did his shirts look clean…….but they smelled clean and STAYED smelling clean! That received VERY high marks, not to mention the number it did on the stains. Most of the time clothes get tossed into the laundry basket with out being pre-treated……so the stain fighting peace of mind was another big plus!
ARM & HAMMER has always been a brand name synonymous with reliability and value in my book, and their baking soda has been a staple I grew up using in the kitchen. I’m excited to have a new favorite Arm & Hammer product for my laundry room! A product that does what it promises to do…..clean clothes.
Giveaway has ended. Congrats to #60 Amy
“My son get his nose bleeds easily, especially in CA’s dry weather. I always wake up to blood stains in the morning on his pillow case and sheets. I tried to wash the stains right the way with cold water if I don’t have time to laundry just yet. And the new Tide stain remove product really help.“ ~Amy

Well, my man doesn’t play with any big cats — he plays the keys on the piano and organ so doesn’t get very dirty. My daughter does, however, work at a day care so on any given day there could be different stains to get rid of. Finger paints, icing, mud, food—you name it. If Era doesn’t take it out, I soak it in dawn and I’m usually successful — not always 100% though.

My biggest chore is getting spaghetti splatters out of my clothes, by treating them (several times) before they disappear!
my biggest issue is that my kids forget to stain stick and i have to scrub to get things cleaned

Hi Cheryl, I’d say my biggest laundry issue is cooking oil and grease stains. I tackle this issue with Shout Stain Remover yet I do not always have luck getting out the stains. My girlfriend does recommend the A & H brand so I may give that a try. Thanks, Kat
Holy cow! Your husband REALLY gets dirty!
Our biggest laundry issue is grass stains.

My biggest problem is usually my son’s formula. It is orange and stains EVERYTHING!! We use homemade laundry soap but will often add a Tide Stain Release if needed. It usually does the trick but sometimes we’ll have to treat it extra.

My biggest laundry issue is mud/grass stains. We love outdoor activities all seasons and I always have to fight those mud stains with pre-treats.

My biggest laundry issue….potty training! Need I say more??!!
Even with three kiddos and a hubby, my biggest stain issues are always with my own clothes! I am so messy and forgetful–I wear my church clothes to cook lunch and get grease stains everywhere, I forget that I’m wearing a new shirt and use a bleach cleaner, and on and on. Really, you’d think that with having to handle my own laundry for this long, I would’ve learned a thing or two!
My biggest laundry issue – 2 year old! ‘Nuff said!

I have a kitty (a regular sized one) with intestinal lymphoma… which means she vomits. Frequently. Where ever she happens to be. So, rugs and bedding are an issue at our house.

I work in a chemical lab so i get tons of stains on my clothes from that. I usually just soak them and scrub w/ some stain release and hope for the best.

Those are great pics! We have got to go see Steve at the cat place!
My biggest stain issue is usually food stains. Most of the time grease stains on Dave’s shirts when he cooks. An apron would work, but he never remembers to put one on. For the grease stains, I use Dawn and Shout and they usually come out. However, if one gets by without being treated, it is hard to get out after it’s already been washed and dried.

We’ve moved from diaper blowouts up to MAJOR food stains in our house. Though my most impressive laundry moment was getting black crayon out of my toddler’s favorite shirt–with WD-40!

We just purchased a new high efficiency washer. With 3 kids and a dog I am always doing laundry. I keep a huge spray bottle full of spray and wash and pre-treat everything. I also use the different cycles on the washer depending on how dirty the laundry is.
On a side note, I would love to hear about your husband and tigers.

I have a six month old who “produces” most of my laundry issues. I soak stained items thoroughly and make sure stains have been removed before drying.

My biggest issue is keeping my husband and my cycling clothes clean. 🙂 Lots and lots of loads of laundry thru out the week.
My husband’s work clothes are usually the toughest thing for me to wash. I have to tackle them with stain spray or soaking them, and it still only seems to work half the time!
