Meet Kellie – TidyMom Crafty Contributor
I ‘m excited to introduce Kellie Tate as a TidyMom Contributor! Kellie is a fun mom, crafter, DIY, foodie blogger, who blogs at Nest of Posies. I’ve admired her creativity for a long time and had the chance to meet her in person at Blissdom ’11 and she’s every bit as fun and sweet in person! So, when I decided I could use a little help with some crafty posts on TidyMom, Kellie was the first person I thought of! Lucky me, she said YES!!
TidyMom readers have always enjoyed craft tutorials, and I will still be doing the occasional craft, but with Kellie’s help we will be able to share more craftiness with you! I can’t tell you how excited I am to have her here, and can’t wait to see what all she does!
You can also find Kellie in Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram .
Please give Kellie a warm welcome with her first fun craft using Martha Stewart’s new glass paints!
Hey everyone, I’m Kellie from Nest of Posies & I’m so excited to be over here at Tidy Mom’s place. Today I’m sharing Martha Stewart’s new glass paint line that I was thrilled to be able to test out, and is now available at a Micheal’s craft store near you! It’s a new line she has developed & has amazing options, colors & textures.
Painting on glass or ceramics seems to be the trend right now in many craft circles. So I thought I would give it a try & dress up my plain ‘ole mug. For the first time in 6+ years I am home alone during the school days. It’s a whole new world to me, after having 3 young kids constantly being around. Let me be honest, I am basking in the quiet time, alone tv time, enjoying my coffee or beverage of choice all in one sitting without interruption. Pure Heaven. I look forward to it everyday. So I thought why not dress up my mug for our special quiet moments together?
The colors & textures of Martha’s new paint line are simply amazing. The tools are pretty impressive as well. Probably one of the main things that stand out to me about her tools is that you can wash & reuse! That’s a rare thing in the craft world not to mention extremely practical!
I completely fell in love with her metallic paints. They are beautiful. Along with the metallic paint she also carries, glitter, frost & opaque paint. The colors choices are stunning, but I guess you already knew that, coming from Martha.
The block letter stencils are like clings. They’re removable & washable. You can paint on any word, monogram or quote by using these cling letter stencils. Just wash after using.
Is anyone thinking homemade Christmas gifts?
Very few supplies are needed. The trick is to remove the stencil lettering shortly after you have applied the paint. So basically this project is very time efficient! Just clean your surface with rubbing alcohol & use the sponge pouncer to apply the paint.
A very small amount of paint is needed to stencil on words. So very cost effective as well. My mug – is from Goodwill, btw. I can’t believe I scored a whole set of dishes, bowls & mugs in plain white for $5 one day.
The sky is the limit in what you can do with the lettering & how you can make it personal. Martha also has various stencils & other clings for any project you have in mind. They are all available at Michael’s craft stores.

Hi Kellie! Congrats on being a contributor with Cheryl @Tidymom. What a great website to act as a contributor. Love this craft. Thanks for sharing.
Oh funny – I actually just bought some of these to make a #shotofcoffee mug! So fun!
Do you have to cure these (i.e. bake them in the oven) to set the paint? How does it hold up in the dishwasher?
hey angela!
you can bake or air dry. baking is much faster. she (martha) has it all listed on the instructions of her packaging.
Oh so many ideas are coming to me right now! This is AWESOME!! Thanks!

Creative blog post ! Coincidentally , others have been needing a 3 200 14 form , my business filled a sample document here “http://goo.gl/yP0P14”.
I LOVED these when I saw them. I just made 2 mugs for my son’s teachers. filled them with a homemade ornament and chocolates. I also made a big soup bowl for an elderly client of mine who adores soup! They came out great. I am looking forward to making some of the kids crafts you’ve posted with my son. I am so glad I stumbled across your site. Definitely added to my favorites bar!
