It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is by far my favorite season. I enjoy giving gifts even more than receiving them. Getting creative and gifting those who mean so much to us……it’s one of the many reasons I love the holidays!
Every Christmas, my sweet sister-in-law is the ninja of snagging all of the hard to find toys for the kids (both big and small). She has this unbelievable skill, drive and little bit of luck at not only finding the hottest gifts that the kids want, but always…..always at the best price as well! For the 30+ years I’ve known her, she spends the days before Thanksgiving plotting out her route, along with hosting Thanksgiving. As soon as the stores open, Linda is out with wish-lists in hand. This year, she was out shopping for close to 24 hours, only stopping for 4 hours to sleep! Somehow, every year with a little magic, every item on her list is marked off.
Linda, has been through a lot in the past year, she battled breast cancer, and came out on top! This year, when my friends at Coca-Cola asked if I knew an “un-sung hero” who goes the extra mile to make the holiday’s special, Linda came to mind immediately.
I wanted to do something special to show Linda my appreciation for all she does. I’m pretty sure after all that shopping, what could be better than relaxing in a warm peppermint milk bath?! And how about during all that gifting wrapping she has ahead of her? Coca-Cola, of course!
Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it is hard to give out little gifts of appreciation to all those you care about. Personalized glass Coca-Cola bottles from ShareaCoke.com, paired with a heartfelt note or a handmade gift, like peppermint milk bath, make an adorable gift.
As we approach winter, I’m already finding that my skin feels dry, and I love to soak and relax in a hot bath. Did you know that Cleopatra claimed that a milk bath preserved her beauty and kept her skin glowing and youthful?!
Table of Contents
A milk bath has many benefits:
- Smooths Skin: milk baths leave your skin feeling soft, supple and hydrated
- Enhances Relaxation: milk in bath water creates comfort and reduces stress
- Soothes Skin Irritations: milk baths have been known to soothe some skin conditions and irritations
- Minimize Aging: milk is rich in vitamins and minerals, which help slow the process of aging and retain skin’s natural elasticity.
It turns out that a milk bath is super easy to mix together and makes a nice gift.
How to make a Simple Homemade Milk Bath
Homemade milk bath is super easy to make and only requires a few ingredients.
ingredients
- 2 cups whole powdered milk (higher fat content the better)
- 3-4 teaspoons peppermint tea leaves (or about 10 drops of essential oil of your choice)
directions
- Combine ingredients in a tin or bowl and whisk together until well combined.
- Store milk bath in a cool dark place in a tin or jar for a day or two to infuse milk with peppermint fragrance.
to use:
add a few tablespoons or as much as 1 cup of milk bath under hot running water. Lie back and relax. After soaking, drain tub and rinse off in clean water.
There are so many ways you can gift the peppermint milk bath.
For my sister-in-law I ordered personalized 8-ounce glass bottles of Coca-Cola® with her name, Linda, Relax, We Love You and Merry Christmas. She loves Coca-Cola, and it was a fun way to personalize the gift.
I put the peppermint milk bath in test tubes, tied on a candy cane and a peppermint milk bath tag (you can download and print the tags I made, below)
I found a cute red carrier to put a few bottles of Coca-Cola and the milk bath tubes, garnished with some greenery and a bow and that was it! In 10 minutes I had a cute gift idea.

I can’t tell you how much I love this idea. (And how much I really want to soak in that peppermint milk bath!!)
This is the most adorable post ever! I love this milk bath idea for gifts and I’m betting you are Linda’s favorite Sister in Law right now! Sounds like a wonderful person to have in your family.
Oh I love this idea!!! Perfect add-on for the ladies in my family.
My sister is the one who keeps our family together now that Mom is gone. She makes “stockings” (really large flannel bags) that she fills with treats and lots of useful items (toothpaste, lotions, soaps, deodorant, etc.). We always get together at her house (not always on Christmas day, a lot of us work in healthcare and public service) to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company.
Thanks so much for the recipe and for having the giveaway. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Blessed be, hugs!!!
I would love to recognize my mom this Holiday season. She loves Coke and would be thrilled! Happy Holidays!
My mom. And my older sister. My older sister lives in the UAE and this is her and her boys’ 2nd Christmas away from us :/ but she is opening their eyes to new world experiences and it is amazing. My mom because this will also be our 2nd Christmas without both of my sisters here. And my mom just had a liver transplant in August. She is so strong and amazing.
I would recognize best friend who goes way beyond with teaching ideas for her students.
My husband is really the family hero. He does all the “man” stuff and still helps with all the rest!
What a wonderful idea! I would love to gift my mom. She is having surgery soon and and I know she is very anxious about it.
My mom – she’s a hero I can’t sing about enough! The courage to be a single mom in a time when that was unacceptable (the sixties) and always put me first, then and now (almost 53 years later), she’s amazing!
My daughter is my hero. Her baby was born with hip dysplasia in both hips. She has had to deal with the trials of her daughter wearing a hip brace. It has been seven months in the brace. Next week she will find out if surgery is necessary. If so, this beautiful little girl will be in a body cast for six months. Here is hoping that this will not happen. The baby tries so hard to do normal baby activites like crawling and walking but the brace is hindering her progress. She can crawl in her own funny way but cannot walk. Every attempt ends up with her falling on her little bottom – luckily the brace cushions her. It is so hard for my daughter to see her little girl become so frustrated.
This is such a great idea, Cheryl! You are so brilliantly creative and I always love to see your ideas! I’ve loved reading through these sweet comments about others too. So touching!
I’d like to recognize my Aunt who is like a mother to me. She just finished all her chemo and kicked cancer to the curb!
My unsung hero is my co-worker Jamie who was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago. I know this is going to be a very rough holiday for a very breezy, beautiful, caring, and loving person.
omg the cutest!!!
I would love to let my husband know how appreciated he is. He works long hours 6 days a week to provide for us. We don’t get to spend very much family time together.
This would be SO great for my daughter Amanda, who took us in when her dad had a devastating stroke. We lost everything, except HER!
I’d give this to my hubby! His great grandfather used to always give him a bottle of coke on Christmas & now we do that for our kids as well. I love those simple traditions! Thanks for offering this giveaway!!
Would love to win free Share a Coke six pack and a $100 Visa Gift Card!
Love this idea!! I would love to do something like this for my mom. About a year ago my husband and I were both unemployed and had no where to go due to losing our home to foreclisure. My mom didn’t hesitate to let us move in with her. She has helped us in so many ways and has made sure that our daughter will have a wonderful Christmas this year. It would be nice to do something for her.
My friend Maricella, because she does a TON of volunteer work during the holidays with a heart full of love.
My daughter- Aimee – she gives and gives and gives of herself to families in need- she volunteers at so many events for adoption- foSter care- hula for pets- the list in never ending. She is an incredible who gives without expecting anything from anyone. We were a single parent family and she always helped buy groceries – pay bills and make sure her you get siblings had a great Christmas. Love your ideas!
what size test tubes did you use? super cute idea for my daughter to make for her friends!
Love this idea as a Christmas gift!
My unsung hero is my daughter Julie. She has been battling appendix cancer for 7 years. She was on chemo for 4 years and now is coming toward the end of her battle. She is on a feeding tube, has a g tube, and tubes from her kidneys. She has 2 daughters ages 10 & 13 that she continues to do what she can for and puts on a happy face for all even through a lot of pain and anguish. Her faith and love for her family and friends are what have kept her going. It would be wonderful if she were to get some recongnition for all she does despite her illness.
I’d like to recognize my 6th grade daughter’s teacher, Chantelle. She is always available before or after to school to help with homework, talk with kids one/or parents and truly gives her whole self to the kids in her classroom.
I would like to nominate Wesley Clark and Diana Boylston Wesley works for Jefferson Parish fire department who has worked hard sleep for many hours to to serve us why his wife Diana was a schoolteacher who lost her family at a very young age she is one great friend who is very loving and caring not only to me but many of us she’s never turned her back on any request that anyone ever makes she’s always cared for her students like her own family they’re definitely one couple that stands out to me that deserves recognition for helping out community and individualize throat Louisiana
I know many people say their mom; but I have to say that my mom is truly my Holiday Hero… two years ago my parents took in my 90 year old grandmother, whom had Alzheimer’s; so that she wouldn’t have to go into a nursing home. Then last year right before the Holidays we found out my dad had lung cancer. Through everything we have been through as a family, my mom has not let the Holidays go by without not only doing everything possible for our family, but she also makes sure to make her friends, neighbors and all those who have been caretakers, doctors and nurses feel special too. In the past two years she hasn’t gone on a vacation of any sort, and has only been out for longer than a couple of hours with friends or granddaughters a few times. This year she says she really isn’t in the Christmas spirit, but we are trying to make it special not just for my dad (who is fighting a super huge battle), but also for mom; because Christmas is a magical time of the year and she needs a little magic this year.
Congrats Patricia! you are the winner! I hope it will make your mom’s Christmas a little brighter!!
I would like to recognize my step dad, Pete Glass, for all of his hard work. He takes care of my disabled mother, three siblings, and works 6 days a week; usually going in for a couple to a few hours on off days. He is now to the point of needing surgery on his feet for the uncanny amount and size of bone spurs. I know he could use an uplift this holiday season. Personalized Coke would be a great way of showing him we love and appreciate him. Love the milk bath idea too! A perfect mix 🙂
Thank you Cheryl. I just ordered a bunch of personalized coke bottles and one that says “Love Peace Joy” . I’m so excited to share this gift with all of my closest people in my life.
Happy holidays!
Love this idea, Cheryl. The tubes of peppermint milk bath are such a great idea.
My unsung hero is my hubby. He always says that if it weren’t for me, “we’d all be lost because you do everything”, but in reality, if it weren’t for HIM, we’d all be lost, because he gives me strength & motivation to stay “wonder woman” in all our hecticness. ❤❤
I nominate my Dad, my mother has Alzheimer’s and he takes care of her every single day. She has no idea who he is but he never leaves her. They have been married 54 years! ❤️❤️
This is a wonderful milk bath and so creative the way you have packaged it. Thank you.
I would like to recognize my daughter, Mary, who is a school psychologist in the Chicago Public Schools. She is also pursuing her PHD in School Psychology. She has 3 dogs she cares for, and a husband, a blog and multiple other activities.
She also does so much for our family. She arranges all family activities, books her fathers travel and helps me shop or just does it for all birthdays & holidays. A parent couldn’t me more proud than we are of Mary. Funny, she loves those Coke bottles at Christmas. It’s a family tradition to have them at the holidays.
Mary also has many student loans. This would be such a wonderful treat for her. ??
Can’t wait to try this and give as gifts! Thanks!
I would like to recognize my sister, she has always been there for me especially after our mom passed away.
My husband is our unsung hero. He had a vasectomy after our 2nd child was born, but 2 years after that we regretted our decision. He was brave enough to have reversal to make me happy. We have had 2 more children since. He is willing to go to the moon and back for us.
My husband is my unsung hero, he helps with lots of chores at our new home. I don’t think I can ever get them all done by myself.
My moms my hero she lost someone close to her last year and still manges to take care of her grandkids and is a constant source of strength and hope for me!:) <3
Sounds so refreshing….cool idea!
I would love to recognize my daughter, she’s mother of 5 and just finished medical school. She works two jobs and is getting a Masters degree all at same time. She rocks…
I would love to recognize my husband: very hardworking, generous, and kind, always trying to do more for us, a gentleman through and through, big heart for others, and he is my best friend. Thanks for the chance 🙂

I would recognize my daughters babysitter. She is another grandma to my daughter (4yo), both her grandma’s live far away so she doesn’t get much time with them. She goes above and beyond and gives my daughter so much love and attention. She has also become a second mom to my husband and I. We adore her and all that she has done for our family.
Thank you! I love this!
Our mailman. He’s such a hardworking guy, on the run in rain or sun.
Last Christmas, I left him a box of chocolates in the mailbox, because I’d be at work when he’d drop off the mail. He didn’t take it!
This year, I hope he gets something from Coca Cola.
No one can resist that!
I nominate my daughter. She has been through some really bad times when she was younger and instead of letting this define her, she is going to college to get a degree in child psychology so she can tell other girls, “I survived this. So can you.” She always wants to help people, especially kids. This year she has started a toy drive where she works and put up her own money for raffle prizes for those who donate a toy for a needy child.
P.S. I love this idea for peppermint bath soak. I never dreamed how easy it could be to make this!
I have 2 sister in laws there are going thru some really tough times so I would try to cheer up Peg and Naomi
My mom is my unsung hero! She is the most loving, hardworking person I know. She is among the top adult caregivers in our county, in the Spring she goes to Nevada and works at a mine shutdown, (12 hour days 7 days a week) and she still makes time to help me with my son who has Cerebral Palsy. She gets to file for retirement soon, and I couldn’t be happier for her. Thanks for the chance!
I definitely would like to show my Hubby some appreciation. He always goes above and beyond for EVERYONE! No matter what anyone needs, he is the first (& most times the only) one to offer his help. Paying for someone else’s layaway order for HIS birthday, giving a stranded father his car keys so he could take his child home before coming back to wait for a tow truck, or being available to help anyone with minor home repairs day or night!
Love peppermint! And Coke!
I have a good friend who always makes everyone welcome at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners….especially those who can’t make it home to be with their biological families.
