A garage is a great place to keep equipment, tools and cars, but it can quickly become overcrowded with bikes, lawn care tools and toys. Leaving everything on the floor wastes tons of available space. Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems help you take advantage of your space and organize your garage.
We moved to this house 9 months ago, after living 16 years with out a garage. I can’t begin to tell you how excited we were to have a garage. Needless to say, we were pretty clueless on how to organize the garage and of course on moving day, it’s where things were dumped, and the mess was starting to get a little out of hand.
I wanted to get a system in place before it got out of hand. So I was super excited when the wonderful people at Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems reached out and asked if we could work together on a garage storage system for our house.
There was one wire shelf in the back corner of the garage when we moved in, and we had two industrial free standing shelves that we brought with us…..it wasn’t enough.
I knew at this rate, it would soon become impossible to get the cars inside. It was already at the point that only my car fit, Allison’s Jeep and Steve’s truck had to stay in the driveway. What good is a two car garage if you can’t fit two cars in it?
Enter……Ray, with Monkey Bars in St. Louis. He came over to our house back in December. He took a look at our garage then and we sat in our kitchen and discussed what would work best for our family. Monkey Bar Garage Systems are designed for efficiency. Their patented hook and bar system allows you to store three times more items than any other storage system.
The integrated, adjustable & expandable system itself is able to effectively organize long- and short-term storage items by using the vertical space in garages. You can organize, bikes, tools, folding chairs and many other items you store in your garage in less than 1/3 of the space of other systems! Utilizing steel brackets, shelving and hooks, the system can take on a variety of sizes based on your needs.
We have empty shelves yet to fill and the new wall cabinet is perfect for my husband to store chemicals he uses for work.
How it works
The bars, which slide into brackets that support the upper shelving, give place for the variety of hooks that can hold everything from bikes and golf bags to shovels, wheelbarrows and surf boards. Secured with a 3 x 3/8 inch screw in the centers of wall studs, the system is capable of holding up to 1,000 pounds every 4 feet! how fabulous is that?! check out this video to see Monkey Bars in action.
Getting all of our tools out of the small trashcan, makes them much more accessible, and safer to get to.
I’m totally in love with how organized the garage is now thanks to Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems! Garage storage and organization has never been this simple!

Our biggest obstacle is getting everything up off the ground, ie., bikes, rakes, brooms, mops, etc.
My biggest obstacle is how short I am! It’s great to keep things off the ground, just makes them slightly more inaccessible. Just means I have to prioritize which things go where! (It also doesn’t help that right now I’m storing pretty much an entire apartment…)
Shelving that needs to be replaced!
Not enough space – closets or shelving – for all of our stuff!
I love how everything is up off the ground!
Our biggest challenge is to get things off the ground and get vertical! My husband works from home and needs storage for his work equipment. It needs to be off the ground and easily accessible. Oh gosh….I’m giddy with the possibility of winning this 🙂
My biggest problem is not having enough space.
We also need to get things off the ground. Also we need our grown children to sort through some of their things that are still out in the garage and take it to THEIR homes! 🙂
So hard to get things UP and of the Floor!
Getting everyone on the same page about organizing!
Biggest problem is gardening tools seem to appears on every wall and I am playing hide and seek trying to find a tool.
My biggest obstacle in organizing my garage is my husband. He is the most unorganized person I know so anything that will help him, helps me.
Just all the little JUNK that is all over the garage. Would love a way to “fix” it as a gift for my husband.
tools
We have trouble with keeping the kids bikes and outside toys neat
I have too much stuff or too little garage!!!
Organizing garden tools and all the extra “stuff” that seems to collect in the garage is our problem!
Biggest obstacle is my husband who thinks he’s organized but really isn’t
My biggest obstacle for organizing the garage is getting started!
biggest obstacle IS the garage, says 2-car garage, so two little geo’s and NO storage anywhere, not even along the walls. Oh yeah and only one plug in for the whole garage, and one light bulb, 40 w.
It is the dumping ground for everything
Probably having everything in a jumble so that when I reach for something, I pull a bunch of things down. I want to reach for one thing and not disturb the rest of the stuff.
Our biggest obstacle is just finding room for it all!
Super small shed – would love to be able to have all my gardening tools in one location as shown above
Our biggest problem with organizing our garage is ‘where to start’, and as I see it, getting it off the floor is a wonderful place to begin. I want us to build in some shelving near the steps and door to the house where the recycling bin(s) could be stored above the garbage can, so I can open the door and toss in recyclables without having to put on my shoes and freeze in the winter. And, it would be nice to keep the inside of the house free from recyclable clutter waiting to go out to the garage. Thanks for the giveaway offer!
Our biggest problem is space, sooo much stuff and not enough verticle storage.
Holding on to a bunch of stuff we’ll need “when we get a house”. On a good day, we can get one car into the two car garage but you can’t navigate at all then.
Biggest obstacle is utilizing vertical space. Everything ends up on the floor.
I have way too many things and not enough storage. Things are stacked on the floor!
With 3 kids, we have too much stuff that gets stacked in the garage. Our two car garage has quickly become a one car garage.
Not enough room for all the stuff/junk that we keep adding to our garage. I need more shelving on the roof of the garage – that is wasted space that can be put to good use.
We have an adult football team, so my biggest obstacle is storing awkward-shaped things (like shoulder pads and helmets)!
Bikes!
we are not making good use of vertical space; many things sit on the floor (bikes, sports equipment, recycling bins, etc); thanks for the opportunity!
the biggest challenge we have is honestly a lack of space. it’s a 1 car garage… almost? it barely fit my husband’s cavalier in there. and only 1 door could be open. when we were dating he used it and actually parked in the garage. (when i moved in, we filled it with my stuff from my house in S. Carolina–we live in Michigan–and it’s still, well. full of my stuff… 6 years later..) anyway… when we were dating, he would have to stop and let me out, and then pull in. there wasn’t room for both doors to open in the garage. LOL!!
So… we put in a workbench for him. he would LOVE to get it all organized and pretty so that he could actually USE it as a shop instead of a garage. :)]
my biggest obstacle is my husbands tools. he leaves them everywhere.
My biggest obstacle is the hoards of ride on toys, sand toys, beach chairs and other items required by an antsy toddler that are deemed “outside toys” and therefore must live in our garage. (Did I mention our THREE strollers?)
My biggest obstacle is my husband! I swear the man never puts anything back where he got it.
Oh my gosh where do I begin……from yard and garden tools to mowers and other tools…..u name my hubby has it. lol
Organization! “A place for everything and everything in it’s place. . .” 🙂
Oh my word! We just moved into a new house and our garage is a horrible mess!
I wish I could send you a pic!
We have no storage system to get things organized. I love the transformation of yours, WOW!
No floor space to put everything!
We don’t have a storage system, haven’t prioritized organizing the garage, and I’m short and can’t reach things that we put up high. Our garage is full of bikes, strollers, wagons, sleds, tires, garden things, and the recycling. We really really need to figure out how to make our garage organized.
My family’s biggest obstacle is managing all the sports equipment. Bikes, balls, ahhhhh!!!
My garage isn’t too messy as of now (knock on wood), but I do have issues with tons of “little things” falling out when I go to grab something. I need bins or baskets to store the random little knick knacks out there!
My biggest obstacle is keeping things off the floor
My biggest obstacle is just all the junk we have that I dont know what to do with 🙁
My biggest challenge is having way too much stuff to fit in one garage. Right now we park in the driveway because our garage is so full. We’d love to be able to park inside again.
My biggest obstacle is my husband. He won’t get rid of anything!
My garage needs a complete overhaul!!!
