Fall Entertaining can be simple and still be elegant. There’s nothing like the magic of a small cozy fall dinner party—good company, a simple but radiant table, delicious stress-free food and everyone feels relaxed. Just what we crave as the weather starts to cool.
This post is sponsored by DIGIORNO pizza. As always, all opinions and love of pizza are my own.
I’m a little sad to think that summer is just about over but let’s be honest, I’m a little excited about fall. We’ve been getting some fall like temperatures here in St. Louis (the other morning it was 48°) and it had me itching to do a little decorating and casual fall entertaining with friends.
This whole tablescape was very easy to put together. The green and blue pumpkins at the craft store made their way into my cart. When I got home I realized they looked perfect with the eucalyptus I picked up from the market along with a little shed deer antler as the inspiration for the centerpiece. The soft non-traditional fall colors are a nice transition from summer into fall.
Tips for a Casual Cozy Tablescape for Fall Entertaining
- Start with a textile. A simple runner or full tablecloth provides the perfect base. TIP: for fall tables, plaid blankets and scarves make a table cozy and inviting.
- Prior to starting the centerpiece, set aside space for each place setting by setting out plates, chargers or placemats.
- Create your centerpiece by starting with something long, like a tray or greenery stems, add seasonal or faux produce and candles to set the mood.
- Layer plates of different sizes and napkins to add texture and interest.
I have learned not to be actively cooking when guests arrive—I might be fussing with the centerpiece or tossing the salad, but nothing that requires a lot of focus.
We like to keep things pretty casual around here, nothing super fancy about us and we really like it that way 😉

I kept the food really easy. Toasted ravioli is a must with pizza if you live in St. Louis. I picked some up from the freezer section at the grocery store and the bread from the bakery. All of it just needed to go in the oven and required no work on my part – gotta love that!
Set up the food for self-serve style on the kitchen counter or buffet.
All pizzeria! varieties are made on preservative-free crusts and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil for added flavor. The pizzas are then topped with sauce made using vine-ripened tomatoes, a variety of spices – 100 percent real cheese, premium meats and vegetables.
I served DIGIORNO pizzeria! Supreme Speciale (a big hit) and DIGIORNO pizzeria! thin Margherita (my personal favorite!) .
