With the induction of entry level digital slr cameras, blogging and advancements in camera phones, more people than ever are taking pictures. Lifestyle photography has exploded with many of us trying to capture our “everyday story“.
Some people, like Rebecca Cooper of the blog Simple As That, really know how to find the beauty in the ordinary. That’s why I was so excited when I heard that Rebecca is teaching a photography workshop at Big Picture Classes this Fall and registration is now open! Learn about what you can expect in the Capture Life Workshop and scroll down to the bottom of this post for a chance to win a free spot in the class!
In the Capture Life workshop, you’ll learn to add a touch of magic to your everyday moments, and really bring your photographs to life. In this 12-week workshop Rebecca will help you tell stories with the pictures you take of your everyday life and improve your technical photography skills along the way.
Each week there will be detailed handouts which include beginner to advanced photo tips, a quick video tutorial, free printables and access to the classroom message boards and photo gallery where Rebecca will be available to answer questions and comment on images.
In October, you’ll learn to Capture the Everyday. In November, you’ll learn to Capture Beauty. In December, you’ll learn to Capture the Holidays.
Along with walking you thru her process, from the snap of the shutter to how she organizes photos, to putting together a pocket-style memory album throughout the class. There will be all kinds of free downloadable journaling and filler cards, templates and scrapbooking inspiration. So cool huh?!
The fun doesn’t stop there! As the holidays approach you will have the chance to create some fun photo gift ideas, create holiday photo cards and multiple chances win some fabulous giveaways and goodies!

I want to learn how to position a shot to make it interesting. And get off the automatic mode on my camera.
I’d love to be able to document my life as a military wife in a fun and inspiring way. Being a military wife can be isolating when you are constantly on the move, and I would love to be a voice for the community in order to connect and bring other women and families together.
I have a DSLR, but don’t feel like my pictures are any better than one taken with my phone or point and shoot. I desperately need to learn to purposefully use it to tell our story.
Life is a daily celebration. I would love to be able to tell my story through pictures.
Because time is fast running out, and I would like to capture the moment in pictures, nice pictures. Children are our greatest treasure and che stop a moment spent with them. I want to learn from the best, and Rebecca does it wonderfully.
