Have fun with your neighbors – You’ve Been BOOed! This Halloween surprise is a fun way to create excitement and smiles around your neighborhood.
As part of my ongoing partnership with Coca Cola, I created this fun Halloween Surprise for our neighbors.
You’ve been BOOed!
I’ve always loved fall, the cooler temps, the trees changing colors, leaves falling……..and Halloween. Trips to the pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins, picking out costumes, buying lots of candy, making fun treats, and haunted houses when the girls got older. So many fun Halloween traditions this time of year.
Only in the last few years did I hear about a fun Halloween tradition called Boo-ing. Have you heard of it? It’s a fun way to get the kids and the whole neighborhood excited about Halloween- You’ve Been BOOed!.
Basically, you secretly set a Halloween basket of treats at your neighbor’s door…..then……ring the doorbell and RUN!! Each house that is BOOed does the same for two more neighbors (leaving a sign and instructions) and the fun continues throughout the neighborhood.
How fun right? Your Halloween surprise You’ve been BOOed basket can be filled with anything you’d like. Since we are huge Coca-Cola fans, I thought it would be fun to use a six-pack of the iconic glass bottles. I picked up regular Coke and Coke Zero because I thought the black carrier would be perfect for a You’ve Been Booed basket!
I removed three of the bottle of Coke and filled those slots with fun Halloween trinkets like a light up Halloween cup, straws, pens, pencils, light sticks, candy and snacks, Halloween florals and of course, Coca-Cola.
I’ve also made homemade treats for You’ve been BOOed baskets
Get creative and make a Boo sign and instructions or you can download the You’ve Been Booed sign and instructions I created here.
Here’s what mine says:
When I was a kid, we didn’t have the internet and Pinterest to find inspiration for creative costumes and parties, even decor was minimal…….
My brother and I | Halloween 1975
As you can tell from the above picture, the internet has probably done some good for families during Halloween, considering even I don’t know what I was thinking with that wacky costume.
There is one thing I do know though,
We’ve always had a love for an icy cold Coca-Cola
From family meals and activities to parties and holiday gatherings, Coca-Cola is perfect for celebrating life’s happiest moments.
I think our neighbors are going to be extra excited to find this You’ve Been Booed Basket on their porch this year!
This fall, Coca-Cola is sharing Halloween inspiration ideas, recipes, tablescapes and more on Pinterest.

Booing became popular around here when my youngest was in elementary school! Boy, would we have been a hit if I had your sweet ideas back then!!! What terrific ideas!!!
I love this idea, Cheryl! Who would’ve thought it could be so fun to be “booed” 😉
I love this! So fun!
We’re gonna shake things up in my boring old hometown here with Boo’ing.
Nobody here’s done that before!
