Expect the unexpected: Taco Bell Cantina Bowl

This post is sponsored by Taco Bell. Inviting you to try the bold new Cantina Bowl.

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may have seen me mention my new found love for Taco Bell.  Yep….. Taco Bell’s new Cantina Bowl to be exact.

Taco Bell recently teamed up with Chef Lorena Garcia, world-renowned chef who has worked at several high end restaurants, a restaurateur herself, and even a guest on Top Chef Masters – as an authority on flavorful, quality food to put together a higher-quality, real ingredient based menu

Hear Chef Lorena talk about the special magical touch everyone has when they make food.

I was intrigued and hungry.  Our kitchen was in disarray last week while we were taking out old appliances and bringing in new ones.  So when Steve said, what can I grab for dinner?  I said “I want to try the Cantina Bowl from Taco Bell.”

When I opened the clam shell I was instantly impressed.  I expected to see I lot of lettuce and a few other ingredients tossed on top. Instead I found plenty of citrus-herb marinated chicken, whole black beans full of flavor,  roasted corn & pepper salsa, a creamy cilantro dressing, pico de gallo, crunchy romaine lettuce, and my favorite, guacamole made from real Hass avocados, all served up on a bed of cilantro rice (560 calories).

Nice first impression! But the real test came, when I picked up my fork.

No generic Taco Bell Flavor.  The Cantina bowl was full of vibrant flavors and texture.  From the fluffy rice and crunchy roasted corn to the juicy chicken and creamy guacamole. I enjoyed every bite……….so much so, that I pulled in to Taco Bell the very next day and enjoyed another Cantina Bowl for lunch.

I like knowing I don’t have to sacrifice quality when I’m on the run and need a time saving, value friendly meal.

Taco Bell is doing a great job with redefining what quality and bold flavor at a fast food restaurant can look and taste like!

  1. I just tried the veggie Cantina Bowl over the weekend and was really impressed. I liked the new flavors. Will definitely need to order some chips to go with it next time! 🙂

  2. I also tried it and love it but we do not live near a taco bell, but I was able to recreate everything and replaced rice with quinoa and made the dressing, it was good

  3. I haven’t tried the Cantina Bowl yet but it looks delicious! I love that Taco Bell is stepping it up. And that cilantro dressing sounds marvelous.

  4. Oh, Cheryl ~ I had no idea Taco Bell offered this. I head out the area where there is a Taco Bell about once a week and I am DEFINITELY stopping by to try this. Thanks so much for the info. : )

  5. I have had and LOVE the cantina bowl. I get the chicken. BUT, Taco Bell, if you’re listening, please make a smaller version of it too (like KFC does with some of their bowls). It’s way too much food for me and I can barely finish it.

  6. I keep looking at the commercial and I’ve been wanting to give it a try, reading this may be just the push I need to give it a try!

  7. Tried the Cantina Bowl with chicken and was pleasantly surprised. This hit many tastebuds and was very satisfying. I am not a Taco Bell fan, but this brought me back to them.

  8. I really love the Taco Bell Cantina Bowl. TB has beat out Chipotle, as far as I’m concerned. I was very pleasantly surprised at the price, the tastiness and the generous portion of yumminess.

  9. That Cantina Bowl looks delicious. When I am out and about and need a quick fast-food meal I tend to stick to salads from either McDonalds or Wendys. I will have to remember that Taco Bell has great new menu items like this!

  10. I had those a few months ago when they first showed up in the Taco Bell near here. I LOVE them. So good. I think we ate Taco Bell three times that week because I loved them so much. My husband was in heaven I think since I don’t generally like eating there but he does. LOL

  11. Thanks for the review. I never know what to get at Taco Bell, now I do!

  12. looks so yummy i’ have not tried it yet though but after seeing this hmmm lol
