Hooked on white dishes!

Last week I posted about our “Log home getaway weekend”

The five of us girls LOVE to drive into town while we are in Salem, MO
and hit the thrift shops.
I’m sure the shop owners just roll their eyes when they hear see us coming!

One of our favorite shops in downtown Salem
is this old church that has been turned into a shop.
Gateway is 2 floors with a multitude of vendors and goodies
tucked in every corner, from antiques to crafts.
They also sell wonderful homemade goodies,
such as jellies, jams and the occasional cake.
We bought
a delicious Angelfood Cake.

Don’t you just LOVE those red doors?

Recently, I have decided that I would like to start collecting
white dishes.
I LOVE displays like Rhoda of Southern Hospitality
has in her dining room.

I’ve picked up just a few pieces here at home,
but last weekend I did real well at Gateway with these five pieces.

The small pitcher on the right is a Homer Laughlin
and apparently I got a pretty good deal on that!
I paid $7.95 – there is one on Ebay right now for $32

I actually only paid $25 for all five pieces.

Tomorrow I’ll show you what I did with a few of them.
