Happy Birthday Edie!
The blogging community is hard to explain to those who are not in it. So many don’t even know it exists. You get odd looks from strangers and friends when you talk about your “friends in the computer”. The friendships and bonds that form over words is something I never imagined would happen.
We rejoice with each other, praise, encourage and inspire each other, cry with each other and most importantly pray with each other.
So when you hear tragedy that has occurred in the life of another blogger, it leaves you not knowing what to do. Someone who has always done nothing but show grace and beauty to everyone. Someone who you respect, admire, and cherish the fact that she shares that her life may not always be perfect, just like mine. Your heart aches.
Because she oozes grace and mercy.
Because she writes from her heart.
Because she can tell you that with God’s grace, we’re not lost, even when all seems lost.
41 years ago today a beautiful life was brought into this world.
Happy Birthday to one of the most amazing women I’ve never met!
I have not had the pleasure of meeting Edie in person, I was SO hoping to get to meet her in Nashville at Blissdom later this month. But I do have to tell you I was beyond flattered when she reached out to me earlier this year asking if I would guest post on her beautiful blog as part of her 12 Days of Handmade Christmas! I think I read and re-read her email 3 times to make sure I understood that Edie wanted ME to be on her blog!! lol.
Please pray for Edie and her family, they lost their home to a fire just days before Christmas.
I’m joining her birthday party here.
Happy Birthday Edie!
Im so sorry to hear about the fire. I do understand about the blogging world being distant from the real world as far as others understand TidyMom! If you know of anything Edie needs please let me know!
Thank you so much for sharing about Edie and her loss. What hope her story has brought me. To see how her family and friends have taken care of her is amazing.
What a sweet post! (You are so right about the blogging community.) And happy birthday to Edie! I’ve been thinking of her a lot these last couple of weeks.

Sending prayers for Edie and her family as they rebuild from this terrible loss. Best wishes to her 41st birthday. Your post is so eloquently written and I’m sure that Edie and her family’s spirits and determination to overcome the devastation of this fire are are lifted everyday because of the wonderful friendship she shares with you and so many others.
Hi Cheryl and Happy Birthday to Edie. I’m so sorry to hear about such a devastating loss for her family. Is Edie, Libbie’s sister-in-law. I know Lib’s sister -in-law lost their home completely right before Christmas too. I have been praying for them (sorry, I don’t know their name) and I will certainly be praying for Edie’s family too.
Cheryl, you are so right about our friends here. I feel extremely close to the people who have encouraged and supported me with friendship, prayers and love.
Hugs…Tracy 🙂
Oh Cheryl, my heart goes out to her. I know FIRSTHAND what she is going through. We lost our ENTIRE house to a fire back in 06. The day after we had a huge Halloween Party. It was devastating. We all made it out just fine but it was the little things we lost that still to this day hurt my heart. My grandfather was a carpenter and MY HERO. I lost him to cancer when I was just 12. I saved EVERYTHING he ever made me. I had a full kitchen and dinning room set. A bed room set, my toddler bed….well you get the picture. I lost all of it. I still have the memories but now with a daughter of my own it hurts not to see her with those wonderful things he made.
I’m heading over to her blog to send her birthday wishes.
hello miss tidymom~ your bday post for edie is perfect! 🙂
What a sweet post for an amazing woman.
I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her so I will head over and introduce myself. You can make some amazing friends online and it is hard to explain to others.
I will also keep her family in my prayers. A family in my neighborhood lost their home to fire last month. The neighborhood has been terrific to rally around them.
Thanks again for the Tom’s giveaway! I am so excited.
Thank you for posting this story. I was having a very selfish day yesterday. Her story has humbled me, and made me grateful for what I have.
Happy Birthday Eddie!
