Even though our children are older, it doesn’t mean I have fewer messes in my house.  Sometimes I think I have LARGER messes, and the fact that my husband can make messes equivalent to 3 toddlers.  So, I’ve given in to the fact that my days will always  include cleaning………and more cleaning.

My arsenal of everyday cleaning aids, always includes paper towels.  When something in the kitchen needs cleaning,  I reach for the paper towels, more often than not.  But there are some things I still prefer to use my kitchen dishcloth for, like wiping off counters and the table.

I recently started to think twice when I learned that this kitchen workhorse, my dishcloth, has a dirty little secret.

I was thrilled when P&G asked if I would like to give the Bounty® DuraTowel a try!  They promised this paper towel would offer me everything I love about my dishcloth, without the germs!  Designed with more fibers, that hold together even when wet, it would feel and clean like a cloth!

I said….. “I’m from Missouri, so Show ME!” lol

I noticed immediately that the Bounty® DuraTowel felt thicker and stronger than the paper towels I had been using. I put it to the ultimate test the first time I used it by cleaning my cutting board after I cut up raw chicken for dinner.  A serious mess that’s full of germs, and the Bounty DuraTowel held up perfectly!

BountyDuraTowel and TidyMom

After learning that a single day’s use of a dishcloth in the kitchen can harbor millions of germs, seeing how well Bounty® DuraTowel held up wet and the fact that it leaves surfaces three times cleaner than my used dishcloth,* I’ve decided to ditch the dishcloth and switch to new DuraTowel more often.  (*1 tsp. spaghetti sauce, 10 mls. coffee, 1/8 tsp. creamer on laminate countertop)

I was sent a brand new dishcloth to use in my kitchen for 2-3 days then I sent it back to P&G Research to be tested.  According to the P&G Research and Development team, adenosine triphosphate or ATP is a molecule present in all animal, vegetable, bacterial, yeast and mold cells. The standard restaurant kitchen ATP number for a clean kitchen averages between 150-300.

If your used dishcloth ranks higher than 300 it’s time to ditch your dishcloth & switch to Bounty® DuraTowel – the only paper towel clinically proven to leave surfaces 3X cleaner than a used dishcloth.–My dishcloth came back with a score WAY over 300 – GROSS!

Bottom line is…….Bounty DuraTowel gives me and other moms what we need to help keep our kitchens clean! I like that!
