Zicam Review & Giveaway! (closed)

***UPDATED – This giveaway has ended. Random.org choose #28 and #1.
Congratulations to Bridget of
Bake at 350 and Diane @Trinity_66***

I am a busy mom just like most of you. I do NOT have to time to get sick. So that’s why I freaked out a bit when a few days before Easter I could tell I was starting to come down with a cold. It all started the morning that I got up to make all of my Easter cookies. I knew I had a big day ahead of me, and more to do thru out the week, like make cupcakes and a big Easter dinner.

I knew I had dodged a bullet all winter by being pretty healthy. But lucky for me, the great people at Zicam had sent me the new new Zicam Cold Remedy products. Zicam Liqui-Loz and Zicam Zavors to try several months ago. Now was my chance to give it a try!

What is Zicam Cold Remedy?
Zicam Cold Remedy reduces the duration and severity of the cold when taken as directed within the first 24 to 48 hours of symptom onset.

Cold Remedy Zavors

• Reduces the duration and severity of cold symptoms when taken at the first sign of a cold
• Crunchy shell with chewable center
• Non-drowsy, non-habit forming, no known drug interactions
• Homeopathic

Available Flavors: Cherry

Cold Remedy Plus Liqui-Loz

• Reduces the duration and severity of cold symptoms when taken at the first sign of a cold
• Throat soothing lozenge with tasty Liqui-Gel center
• Non-drowsy, non-habit forming, no known drug interactions
• Homeopathic

Available Flavors: Cherry

At the first sign of my cold that morning, I popped a chewy Zicam Zavor in my mouth, and continued to do so every 3 hours thru out the day. The next morning when I got up, I expected my cold to be worse…..but I was pleasantly surprised at how I felt! I wasn’t feeling wonderful, but my symptoms were actually less severe, instead of worse, like they usually are on the second day of a cold. Zicam helped reduce how bad my cold was and the amount of time I had it. I was so thankful to have Zicam on hand so I could continue on with my busy week instead of being stuck blowing my nose and coughing while preparing food for Easter!

I loved that they are so easy to take and don’t taste bad either. You can easily throw a few in your purse if you have running around to do. They helped knock out my cold without making me drowsy. I would most certainly recommend these to anyone!

Here’s a list of tips to prepare for cold and flu season:

  • Exercise, eat right, get 7-8 hours of sleep a night and take a daily multi-vitamin.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth during cold and flu season, especially after being exposed to viruses or bacteria.
  • Promote strong immune function by switching from coffee to tea, eating garlic liberally, and adding yogurt to your diet. And use zinc products, such as Zicam oral Cold Remedy, within the first 24-48 hours of the onset of cold symptoms to reduce the duration and severity of your cold.
  • Drink lots of water, which flushes toxins out of your body while re-hydrating your system.
  • While studies show that exercising for at least 30 minutes several times a week can help you stay healthy, our immune system fights most effectively when it isn’t stressed. So listen to your body when you feel sick, as a hard workout could weaken your immune system temporarily and potentially make your illness worse.

For more helpful tips, visit Zicam’s “I Can” Club that provides subscribers with helpful wellness tips, cold and flu alerts, as well as valuable coupons.

Two lucky readers will win a Zicam Prize Pack!

Forgot to say in my first comment that I totally agree with the Zicam website in the importance of sleep. When I get run down, that is when I feel most susceptible to getting sick.

AND…I have your button on my blog. :)
