Hooked on Barns

Ok, so have I ever told you I have always harbored a deep love of BARNS?

This is one near my house that I just LOVE?

Maybe it’s simply out of a longing for a simpler time, perhaps it’s the reminder of our agricultural heritage.

I love all the texture and color!

Barns in the snow

Many have become neglected,

while others get a new lease on life! I don’t know what it is about them, but I just LOVE them!

I’m Hooked on Barns!!!
How about YOU? Do you LOVE barns too?

Head over to Hooked on Houses and see what others are “hooked on”

New England barns and Pennsylvania stone barns are the best! We now live in Virginia where there aren't many barns and I so miss seeing them. I would love to make an old barn into a house!

I agree with you, "SIMPLER TIMES" not all the rush and hub bub! but also it makes me think of home, not because I grew up on a farm with a barn, but its the whole setting of AMERICA and Americana. I picture going home to my moms homemade pies! thanks for the post!

making an old barn a house would be AWESOME!! growing up my parents bought an old farmhouse on some property – they put on an addition in the shape of a barn with barnwood siding! I LOVED that house – I cried when they sold it.

Love the first pic. There's just something about red barns.

btw, I posted about your modge podge frames. I made some for my daughter's soccer team. Check them out – http://ourdailybigtop.blogspot.com/2009/06/its-that-time.html

I think that loving barns and lighthouses is in our genes. They look good new, in ruins, or anything in between.

I do have a fascination with old barns. And there aren't that many great ones in Oklahoma. I keep trying to talk my husband into moving ones that I do find, but movers say they will just crumble. So very sad. I would move to have a great old barn, but he hasn't given me the go ahead on that one yet. But I at least get to vacation with seeing barns on the agenda.
