Hillermann’s Pumpkin Pandemonium!

space

A favorite local business of mine is Hillermann’s Nursery & Florist. (in Washington, Mo., 50 miles west of St. Louis)

It’s a huge nursery, garden center, florist and gift shop and they know how to put on an event when it comes to the holidays!

Last weekend was their fall Pumpkin Pandemonium!

It’s an awesome place to shop and visit with my camera! You can see my visit from last year here on this post Mums and Pumpkins and Gourds…oh my!

As you come thru the front doors, you enter the garden center and gift shop! They have wonderful home and garden decor!

We were in love with the HUGE tree decorated for fall!

Funny little side note- Allison and I had only been inside for a few minutes when someone came up to me and recognized me from my blog! LOL I was so tickled, I think I rambled out of nerves for a bit, she said how much she loves my blog, and silly me did not get her name!!

yes, I then walked around with a big head all day after THAT! LOL

kind of like “Flora” the Garden Maven

Flora pumpkin lady at Hillerman's Nursery

Their eye-catching displays of pumpkins and mums are inside the greenhouse and out!

I mean look at these! If that doesn’t get you in the mood for fall, I don’t know what will!

I just had to get a picture of this funny looking gourd we saw.

odd shape gourd

scarecrow and mums

Outside they have pumpkin painting, a corn maze, petting zoo, pony rides, kettle corn and a hot dog lunch!

After a few hours on the glorious afternoon -

we chose our pumpkins

pumpkin picking at TidyMom.net

and loaded up our cart !

Don’t you just love that light green pumpkin?

Last year I fell in love with Kale plants – they look really pretty in my planter with mini pumpkins all around it.

The box is full of all the mini pumpkins/gourds.

While we were at Hillermann’s, The Bugman was getting cornstalks and more pumpkins from a neighboring farm where he hunts.

Have you gone pumpkin shopping yet? Gosh I could just spend $$$$ on pumpkins, I just {heart} how they look in the yard and around the door!

I’ve got our yard and porch just about finished – I’ll post those pictures soon – it’s raining, so I can’t take pictures today!!

Anyone know how to get permanent marker off pumpkins? I hate seeing the price on them.

Not to give her a ton of free advertising, but there are some SERIOUSLY adorable pumpkin ideas on MarthaStewart.com.

Wow those pictures ROCK! I love the fall colors and decoration. So cool. Try a magic eraser or goo off. But don't eat the pumpkin after that:) I love going to places like that.

We used to use rubbing alcohol to get marker off.

That looks like an awesome place! I didn't know it existed! We went to Sam's Club a few weeks ago and they had pumpkins for $8.88 that were HUGE! I can't wait to get some. We usually get ours right before Halloween. If we get them any sooner, they seem to rot or someone steals them and squishes them in the street.

I love collecting pumpkins for decorating each fall too! So far we have picked up 6 small ones, one big one, and two craft ones that the girls are going to paint this weekend. So fun!
